🌙 Our Story

A journey rooted in love, shaped by experience, and inspired by the work of Deen.

🌸 Where It All Began

From a young age, I was surrounded by reminders of purpose- to live for Deen, to serve others, and to carry this message forward with sincerity. Those early experiences shaped my heart before they shaped my path.

My journey began at just 13 years old, teaching a small group of children, the sons and daughters of my father’s friends. What started as a few children soon grew into something much more. Each year, more girls from the local area would join, and our small class became a space where we didn’t just learn, we grew together. We would:

  • Learn the foundations of Deen
  • Create worksheets and little books
  • Go on small trips to seek inspiration
  • Encourage each other to love learning

Those early moments planted the seed for what would one day become Deenability.

🌿 Growing Through Teaching

After graduating at 16/17, I returned to teach at the very madrasah where my journey began.I taught young children, some as little as 3 to 5 years old. Those years shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. I learned:

  • Patience when progress was slow
  • Perseverance when things felt challenging
  • Empathy for every child’s unique needs
  • Gratitude for the opportunity to teach

Later in life, these experiences even helped me raise my own children. Alhamdulillah, they were part of my training before I even realised it.

💛 The Children Who Changed Me

The children I taught throughout my teens and early adulthood inspired me every single day. The children I taught were never just students. They were my teachers too. Their honesty, their innocence, and their sincerity pushed me to become better every single day.

Their parents’ feedback helped me grow. Their encouragement kept me going. Their trust reminded me of the responsibility we carry as educators. When I first asked my students what they wanted to be when they grew up, the answers were what you’d expect:

“Spiderman”

“Superman”

“Ben 10”

But as we began nurturing their love for Allah and love for Rasulullah ﷺ, something beautiful happened. Within a few months, their answers changed:

“I want to be like Prophet Muhammad ﷺ”

“I want to be like Prophet Ibrahim (AS)”

“I want to be a Sahaabi…”

One eager little boy even insisted he wanted to be a Sahaabiyah 💛

That was the moment I realised:

👉 When Deen is taught with love, sincerity, and patience…it doesn’t just teach- it transforms.

🌙 A Teaching That Reflects the Sunnah

Through multiple challenges, I understood something very early on: Deen is not meant to be taught with pressure. It is meant to be lived, loved, and gently nurtured. But along my journey, I saw things that didn’t sit right with me. I saw:

  • Children being labelled as “clever” or “weak”
  • Exams being valued over understanding
  • Teaching becoming rigid and disconnected

This was not the way of Rasulullah ﷺ. And I couldn’t ignore it. So I made a quiet promise:

To create learning that is rooted in love, not pressure.

To teach in a way that honours every child’s ability.

To bring creativity, compassion, and purpose back into Islamic learning.

Because Deen is for every ability, not just a few. Every Child is an Amaanah.

🌿 Inspired by the Work of Tabligh

My roots are deeply connected to the work of Tabligh, which shaped my mindset from a young age. The focus on: sincerity, simplicity, nurturing love for Deen– became the foundation of everything I created.

Deenability reflects this -a space where learning is not just about knowledge, but about building connection, love, and purpose.

✨ The Moment That Stayed With Me

One day, after teaching my class about Jannah, we created collages together: filled with everything children love: 🍬 sweet fountains 🍫 chocolate waterfalls 🦕 even a few toy dinosaurs I asked the class:

“Who wants to go to Jannah?”

Every child excitedly raised their hand- except one little boy sitting quietly in the corner. I sat beside him and gently asked why. He looked up and said:

“I only go where my mum and dad go…”

SubhanAllah. In that moment, everything paused. I reassured him softly: “Your mum and dad will be there too, Insha’Allah.” His face lit up. And he joined in again with joy.

That moment never left me. Because it reminded me:

👉 Our goal is not just to teach information…but to nurture hearts, build hope, and guide with love.

🌸 Why Deenability Was Created

As I continued teaching, I struggled to find resources that truly aligned with my intention. There were:

Some helpful websites, Some children’s books, Some worksheets- But something was always missing. Sometimes:

  • The wording didn’t feel right
  • The tone lacked gentleness
  • There were facial features I preferred not to use
  • Or the resources didn’t reflect the purpose I had in mind

At times, there were platforms available…But I simply couldn’t afford the memberships.

Alhamdulillah, today there is more available. But at that time, I felt a strong need to create something different.

🌿 Built With a Different Intention

I didn’t just want to create resources. I wanted to create something rooted in:

  • Sincerity
  • Accessibility
  • Affordability
  • Service to the Ummah

A space where teachers and parents could:

  • Use resources freely
  • Adapt them to their needs
  • Add their own madrasah logos
  • Teach in a way that suits their children/students

Many platforms have copyright restrictions- and rightly so. But for me, this is something else.

🌺 A Sadaqah Jaariyah Vision

Deenability is built with one intention:

To be a means of Sadaqah Jaariyah. A continuous reward. A shared effort for the Ummah. There are no restrictions here. You are free to:

  • Use the resources
  • Adapt them
  • Share them
  • Teach with them

As long as they are used to spread goodness and benefit.

💕 A Small Request from the Heart

From the depths of our hearts, we make a small request…If Deenability has benefited you, even in the smallest way, please remember us in your duʿās.

Your sincere duʿās are what will carry this work forward, bring barakah into it, and allow it to reach hearts far beyond what we can imagine.

✨ A Mission Still Unfolding

This journey is not complete. Deenability is still growing, still evolving, and striving to become better with each passing day.

Every resource, every idea, and every update is part of a greater mission- to serve this Ummah with sincerity, care, and purpose.

This is more than a project, it is a continuous effort of sadaqah jāriyah, a means for generations to learn, love, and live the Deen with joy and connection.

💜 A Warm Welcome

We warmly welcome you to Deenability.

May this be a space of ease, growth, and inspiration for you, your children, and your students. A place where learning feels gentle, meaningful, and rooted in love for Allah ﷻ and His Deen

And we make duʿā…That Allah ﷻ accepts this humble effort, places barakah in every part of it, and allows it to spread goodness across homes, classrooms, and madrasahs around the world.

That through this shared intention and love for Deen, He gathers us all in the most beautiful company of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Jannatul Firdous. Aameen 💕 🤍

With love & duʿās,

Umm Ismaeel
